Ramblings

I realized something today as I was browsing blogs.  I am not a blogger! LOL  As much as I would love to sit down and recount the greatest moments in my life for future laughs, I just can't find the time.  So, I suppose I will just try to make it a point in the coming year to hop on here more often.

I'd like to sum up the last week or so of our lives in this post.

On Dec. 20th we lost a great man in our family.  Pawpaw passed away and is now home with his Maker.  As much as we all miss him, he is so much better off now.  He is probably running around up there with Bodie (as Kendra and I say), not smoking...though maybe he is...and much better than he was in the last year here on Earth.  While we had his funeral on Thursday, his birthday, we celebrated the fact that he was here and it was good to see everyone.  Though a sad occurence the week of Christmas the one things the event did do was bring all the family home.  Everyone was able to be at our home on Christmas and it even snowed!  Just as we were sitting down to eat, the white stuff started streaming from the heavens.  I'd like to think it was Pawpaw that sent it, but they were calling for that to happen all week. (grin)  I still know he was looking down on us and smiling, smelling the ham and wishing he had some of the buckeyes I made in his honor.  We love you Pawpaw.

As for Christmas with the Kranks...oh, I mean Boyles, it was good.  You wouldn't know the economy had slowed down with all the goodies our kids got this year.  We could have filled up a small toy store.  I was actually able to organize the kids closets yesterday and put some of the new items away.  My mom, dad and grandparents went in together and purchased a trampoline for the kids.  Kendra has asked us everyday to put it together.  We've told her more than 10 times it will be this weekend after the snow melts.  I really don't think kids have any memory when it comes to things their parents say. She'll probably ask 10 more times.  Brady has played with all of his new toys and Carson has just resigned to playing with whatever is available.  It's not that he didn't get any - it's that his brother doesn't allow him to touch anything!  We keep telling Brady that one day Carson will be bigger than him and he will sit upon him. hahaha  He's almost there now!

The new year is bringing great things our way.  My pessimism is moving over and taking a back seat to new and positive thoughts.  Just look around and see how great things are...that's what I tell myself.  2011 will be great.  New adventures to be had...potty training, recreational activities and 3 kids under 6!  Bring it on!
