He's soooooo 2!

How do you get a 2 year old to sit still to do a mini lesson?  YOU DON'T!  At least I don't.

He will not sit still for me to teach him a lesson.  I can get about 45 sec and that's it.  Now, put on a movie and he'll sit there for an hour.  Maybe I should just buy a bunch of Veggie Tale movies and teach it that way.  Today I tried to sing a song and have him sing it with me.  It was something about a pumpkin and it had hand movements.  I told him to do it with me and he flat out looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Nooooo," in that sweet Brady voice.  HAHA  Okay, so I did show it to him before and maybe it was a little silly but come on...he's 2!  "How old are you," I ask him.  "2," he says as he holds up one finger on each hand.  LOL

So, now I'm on to the task of figuring out how to engage him long enough to teach him his colors and bible verses.  Great!  Only God can help me.  And one more thing God, potty training.  Be with us!

It's a....dinosaur!

Well, the picture says it all!

When Mommy Goes Out

So, this is how last night went:

To set the scene - I went to Lowes to pick up some hardwood floors we ordered.  They ended up being the wrong color. I had to call home in hopes that Kevin could find the receipt for the ones we ordered 2 years ago.  (It was also my weekly mommy's night out, though I took Carson.  Kendra and Brady were at home.)

Me: (calling Kevin to tell him about the floors)
Kevin: "Hello"
Me:  "These floors are the wrong color.  Can you look for a receipt to find a catalog number?" "Call me back."
Kevin:  (noise in background - kids) "Yes"

Me: (waiting...waiting...waiting...talking to nice older clerk about how women are always right :-))

Kevin: "Where would the folder be (kids yelling, playing in background)?"
Me: "I think I made a Lowes file or Home Improvement."
Kevin: "Ok"
Me: "Do you have it?  Can you find the catalog number?"
Kevin: "No, I haven't found it yet" (Click) (Kids yelling, Brady audibly getting into something)

Me: (He hung up on me) (continued talking to the clerk.  Decided to just return the wood at this time)

phone rings...

Kevin: (on speaker, kids yelling, lots of noise) "I found the receipt.  What kind of number do you need?"
Me: "He says he needs a catalog number and it should be on the receipt."
Kevin: (still a lot of noise) "I have an item number."
Me: "Give me that." (Wrote it down. Asked clerk it that would work.  He said catalog number would be the best)  (Kevin yells at Brady to put it down.  Lots of noise from phone.  Kendra crying/screaming.)
Kevin: "Brady is throwing 2x4 over the railing from upstairs." "Brady, stop, put that down...." (Kendra screaming)
Me: (giggling) Go take care of him... (no reply)  "Babe, go get him".... (no reply)  (hung up phone)
Me to clerk: "Oh, my 2 yr old is throwing 2x4's over the railing at home.  (giggling again)  That's what happens when mommy leaves the house." :-)

a minute goes by....phone rings
Me: "Go take care of the kids.  We'll figure it out."
Kevin:  "I did.  I put Brady in his room."  (Conversation finishes)

And all is right with the world again....hahaha...except mommy is still out and daddy is at home with two kids.
Imagine if all 3 would have been home!!!!

So behind....

I'm so behind in updating our latest antics.  School, babies, church...there is no end to what I have to do.  However, I am still laughing and trying to remember all the things I want to write on here. I need to start writing down on paper my thoughts or things he does when they occur.

First up, we found out Brady is much smarter than we thought.  Not that we don't know that he is hiding his genius from us...because we do.  We were at my mothers and she was doing the daily routine of vitamins in the morning.  Giving my children vitamins, you'd think they would like to have an IV hooked up to their arms for the things!  It's incredible how they eat their vitamins.  So, mom gave Brady his daily 1 vitamin C for the morning.  At home we usually give them 3-4 different tablets of various vits.  Anywho, he started fussing (typical Brady) and she probably just stared at him and asked what do you want.  Like, I just gave you your viatmin.  He looked at her sternly and said, "No grammy.  Two C's."  Now if that isn't a man with intention I don't know what is.  LOL

Let's see....his newest thing in the car is telling me where to drive.  A couple of weeks ago I heard him say something from his throne in the back seat but figured he was talking to the TV.  He started fussing, a lot.  I finally turned around and said, "What?"  He told me to, "Go that way," as he was pointing the opposite way I was turning.  Laughing, I told him we had to go "this way" because we were going to the store.  He replied, "Oh."  Again, LOL.  He's just so darn cute.  It's funny though because he constantly is saying, "Go that way," in the car now.  Kevin told me to take a day and just go where he tells me to go.  That would be funny.  I think I may do that.  That should make for a great entry!

I'm sure there are several other events I have forgotten to jot down.  As I remember, I'll come back to update but for now, he is sleeping and there are floors to clean. :-)
